Abstract: The Draft Master Plan for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area is being presented for public review and feedback. The plan, aimed at a target year of 2000, covers 1864.87 sq km and includes land reservations and projections. In recent years, HUDA has introduced significant urban greening and lake conservation projects, improving the city’s quality of life, earning Hyderabad recognition from National Geographic as a model for developing cities. The 20-year perspective plan is designed with pragmatism, focusing on implementation over technical perfection, ensuring it gains support from the people. Extensive consultations were conducted with Municipalities, Gram Panchayats, and government agencies to create the plan. The public is encouraged to examine the detailed plans available at HUDA’s office, with 1:10000 scale maps covering survey numbers and village boundaries. The metropolitan zone sheets will be displayed first, followed by the Proposed Land Use Map for Hyderabad’s Municipal Corporation area. The report includes a 1:50000 scale map, providing an overview of the road network and land uses. For precise details, feedback should refer to the maps at HUDA’s office. Stakeholders, including developers, environmentalists, and industry groups, are urged to submit specific suggestions on land use, transportation, and zoning regulations.
