Abstract: The International Fleet Review 2001, hosted by the Indian Navy in Mumbai, was the largest peacetime maritime event in India’s history, with 24 foreign warships and over 4,500 naval personnel from 29 countries. The event, themed “Bridges of Friendship,” emphasized global maritime cooperation and the bonds between navies. It celebrated the shared challenges of the sea and highlighted the importance of naval diplomacy in fostering international ties. The Review was not only a significant naval exercise but also a tribute to Mumbai’s hospitality, maritime heritage, and the enduring friendship between seafarers and nations across the world.
