Abstract: This book explores the Lok Jumbish School Building Program, a grassroots initiative in rural Rajasthan, India, aimed at enhancing primary education through community involvement. Supported by the government, the program focused on repairing and refurbishing existing school buildings in remote villages of the Chohtan district. By mobilizing local resources and engaging villagers in the construction process, the initiative successfully created functional and cost-effective learning environments. The book highlights how people’s participation significantly reduced costs while improving educational infrastructure, demonstrating a sustainable model for community-led development in rural education.
