Abstract: This document outlines a strategic framework for transforming the Gateway of India Precinct into a dynamic tourist district. It begins by examining the concept and importance of tourist districts in urban settings. The study analyzes the current land use and streetscape of the area, identifying emerging patterns that reveal opportunities and challenges for sustainable development. A detailed action plan focuses on conserving the precinct’s cultural heritage while enhancing its attractiveness. Conducted in partnership with the Urban Design Research Institute (UDRI), the project emphasizes collaborative efforts and acknowledges all stakeholders contributing to the precinct’s revitalization.
