Abstract: This handbook provides a framework for preserving and enhancing the heritage streetscape of Dr. Dadabhai Naoroji Road, Mumbai. It examines the area’s historical background and urban context, mapping its spatial and architectural features. The study identifies challenges such as inconsistent signage, cluttered shopfronts, and deteriorating structures, and documents existing streetscape patterns. Guidelines are proposed for rationalizing signage and shopfronts, directing restoration, and designing heritage-sensitive street furniture. Strategies for management, sponsorship, tourism potential, and citizen participation are emphasized to ensure sustainable implementation. The handbook serves as a practical reference to strengthen the street’s cultural identity, visual coherence, and functional quality.
