Abstract: *Empowering Indigenous Communities and Primary Livelihood of the MMR – Volume II* examines how environmental rights and coastal governance shape the lives of Indigenous and traditional fishing communities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). It explains the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) framework and the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP), which guide coastal protection and development through regulations and detailed maps. By clarifying how to understand and use CZMP maps, the volume enables communities to engage with planning processes, assert their environmental rights, and safeguard their livelihoods. Its goal is to promote equitable, participatory, and ecologically responsible coastal governance in the MMR.
