Abstract: The Shaar Harahamim Synagogue, also known as Gate of Mercy Synagogue, is the oldest synagogue in Mumbai. It was established in 1796 by Samaji Hasaji Divekar and the neighbourhood around the synagogue is colloquially called Israeli Mohalla.
