Abstract: As an urban historian, she played a key role in Pune’s heritage conservation movement, particularly in the Cantonment areas. Despite recovering from major surgery, she worked tirelessly through the summer to update the Cantonment heritage lists and successfully advocated for the first Heritage Conservation Committee. Her efforts saved the Shivaji Market from demolition. She was also a member of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Heritage Conservation Committee. In her honor, INTACH’s Pune Chapter published her insightful articles from the ‘Treasure Trove’ column in Pune Newsline, preserving her contributions to the city’s rich and complex history.
