Abstract: The “Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) for 201 to 300 Bedded District Hospitals – Revised 2010 (Draft)” sets uniform standards to improve healthcare quality, accessibility, and efficiency in district hospitals under the National Rural Health Mission. It covers hospital grading, infrastructure, manpower, services, equipment, lab norms, and bed allocation. The guidelines include quality assurance, statutory compliance, and citizen-friendly measures like the Citizen’s Charter and Rogi Kalyan Samities. Annexures support implementation through protocols on waste management, surgical safety, seismic readiness, and health data reporting. Overall, the IPHS ensures standardized, accountable, and patient-centered care at the secondary healthcare level.
