Abstract: The *Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) for 301 to 500 Bedded District Hospital Guidelines (Revised 2010 – Draft)* provide a structured framework to enhance the quality, efficiency, and accountability of district hospitals in India. The guidelines cover hospital grading, infrastructure, manpower, essential services, equipment, and laboratory diagnostics. Emphasis is placed on quality assurance, statutory compliance, capacity building, and patient rights through initiatives like the Citizen’s Charter and Rogi Kalyan Samities. Annexures address waste management, newborn care, mercury safety, and seismic preparedness. These standards aim to ensure equitable, patient-centered healthcare aligned with national health goals.
