Abstract: Moore Ruble Yudell, in partnership with FFNS Arkitekter AB, designed the award-winning Tango housing project for the 2001 Swedish Housing Exhibition in Malmö. Featuring eight colorful steel-and-glass towers around a landscaped courtyard, Tango combines artistic expression with advanced technology. Each of the 27 unique, energy-efficient apartments allows residents to control systems digitally. The design emphasizes sustainability, community, and human-centered living, earning top Swedish and AIA honors. Tango has become a prototype for future sustainable housing, with residents paying premium prices for its innovative design. Moore Ruble Yudell’s work reflects a strong commitment to culture, climate, and placemaking.
