Abstract: Elphinstone College, established in 1856, celebrated its 150th anniversary on April 1, 2006, marking a legacy of academic excellence. Renowned alumni include Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The college offers Arts, Science, and Commerce programs with modern additions like IT, Biotechnology, and Tourism Management. It has 27 departments, international exchanges, strong placements, and was accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC in 2004. Recognized as a UNESCO Best Heritage Building, it ranks among India’s top 10 colleges. To commemorate the milestone, it will host an International Conference on Urban Planning and Environment on January 30–31, 2007.
