Abstract: Mumbai, with its limited green spaces, relies heavily on its parks for residents’ well-being. However, many of these parks face time restrictions, limiting access. This study explores the impact of such restrictions through case studies of parks like Horniman Circle Garden and Cross Maidan Garden, examining the historical and current reasons for closures. The report advocates for removing these restrictions to allow round-the-clock access, highlighting benefits such as improved health, social well-being, and environmental sustainability. It offers recommendations for park improvements and discusses budgetary concerns, urging community involvement to optimize park spaces for all Mumbaikars.
