Abstract: After assuming the role of Deputy Inspector General of Registration, Mumbai Division, I frequently consulted the *Ready Reckoner for Mumbai* by Santosh Kumar and Sunit Gupta. This comprehensive guide offers essential, well-organized information crucial for taxpayers and professionals involved in real estate valuation in Mumbai. Its authenticity and clarity have made it an indispensable resource. With rapid growth in construction, especially in Mumbai, and development of mill lands in South Mumbai, this Reckoner is increasingly valuable for fulfilling tax and registration duties. The investor-friendly stamp duty policy has further boosted early flat bookings, allowing seamless property transfers without additional duty liabilities. Public awareness and departmental efficiency have improved notably due to widespread access to accurate stamp duty and registration information, aided by department computerization and the *Ready Reckoner*. This has led to faster registration and reduced general inquiries at government counters. The efforts of the authors in presenting complex real estate information in an accessible format are commendable. The 11th Edition promises even greater utility for a broad audience, including buyers, builders, agents, valuers, and society members. I extend my congratulations to the authors and publishers for their exceptional contribution and wish them continued success.
