Abstract: The 14th enlarged and improved edition of the *Stamp Duty Ready Reckoner* by valuers Santosh Kumar and Sunil Gupta has been released for 2011, maintaining its affordable price of Rs. 300 for the past nine years. This reliable reference guide is essential for professionals involved in real estate transactions, including valuers, architects, builders, estate agents, and legal professionals. With the recent notification of rules for deemed conveyance, cooperative housing societies are urged to settle stamp duty dues using the relevant year’s reckoner. The government is ready to assist in this process. The Ready Reckoner also plays a vital role in the new property tax system in Mumbai, as the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has adopted the 2010 reckoner rates as a base for shifting from the rateable value to capital value system.
