Abstract: This study examines the socio-political dynamics of eviction and resettlement in Delhi amid efforts to transform it into a “world-class city.” It critiques state-led redevelopment policies that displace marginalized communities, costing them housing, livelihoods, and dignity. Drawing on interviews, case studies, and policy analysis, the report analyzes four key themes—Shelter for All, Economic Development, Quality of Life, and Safe Environment—to expose the gap between official narratives and lived realities. The concluding chapter highlights community resilience and the ongoing fight for urban justice, offering insights into the broader challenges of displacement and resistance in rapidly urbanizing contexts of the Global South.
