Abstract: This book celebrates Bangalore’s unique architectural and aesthetic heritage, while expressing concern over the loss of many historic buildings and sites. Originating from the Bangalore Urban Art Commission’s initiative, a comprehensive survey was conducted in 1983 by Mr. K. N. Iengar of the Indian Heritage Society. The book draws from that survey, documenting distinguished structures and charming localities that define the city’s character. More than just a coffee-table piece, it aims to raise public awareness and foster a sense of responsibility toward conserving Bangalore’s architectural legacy through practical policy and action.
