Abstract: This book explores the concept of “Katte” in *Bengaluru*, small public spaces that blend the sacred and social. Through case studies of 20 Kattes—from historical religious sites to urban landmarks— it examines their cultural, architectural, and spiritual significance. The work highlights how these spaces serve as community hubs, preserving memory and fostering daily interactions. It discusses their design, role in Bengaluru’s social fabric, and potential for revitalization in modern urban planning. A final section features 50 additional Kattes, offering a broader perspective on their importance in the city’s cultural and public life.
