Abstract: This document is a diglot (bilingual) edition of the *Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1976*, as it stood on August 1, 1982. It includes both the English and Hindi versions of the Act. The Hindi text, deemed the authoritative version, was first published in the *Gazette of India (Extraordinary), Part II, Section IA, No. 4, Volume XV*, on June 7, 1979, spanning pages 357 to 408. The Hindi version was prepared by the Official Languages Wing and issued under the authority of the President of India, in accordance with Section 5(1) of the *Official Languages Act, 1963*. Upon its official publication, the Hindi text acquired the status of the authoritative version of the Act in that language. This bilingual publication facilitates better understanding and application of the law by providing side-by-side texts in both Hindi and English, ensuring accessibility for speakers of both languages and supporting legal clarity and official use.
