Abstract: This study examines the relationship between typological processes and design theory within urban morphology and architecture. It explores key themes such as exoteric polytheistic fundamentalist typology, urban tissue, and morphogenesis. Drawing on the Italian school of Saverio Muratori, it highlights a staged design approach linking theory and practice. Case studies include the *Manuale del Recupero* of Rome, suburban transformation, and North African spatial typologies. The research also examines the development of typological thinking in the United Kingdom, particularly in Cambridge. It addresses enclosure, typological zoning, and conflicts between urban context and architectural language, positioning typology as a dynamic tool for guiding spatial transformation.
