Abstract: This study, “Workers and Non-Workers – An Analysis Based on the 2001 Census,” examines India’s economic activity patterns as reflected in the 2001 Census. It analyses the composition, distribution, and trends of both workers and non-workers, explaining key census concepts and definitions. The report explores the geographical, industrial, and occupational profiles of workers, alongside the socio-economic factors influencing non-workers.
